The National Council for Mental Wellbeing collects data on all MHFA courses taught in the USA. This data is used to ensure instructor fidelity and compliance, to gather qualitative data that the National Council can use to quantify MHFA’s impact, and to improve future versions of the MHFA curriculum.
This data is collected automatically when courses are taught via MHFA Connect, the recommended learning management system that all MHFA learners and instructors are encouraged to use to access our curriculum.
However, there are some cases in which courses cannot be facilitated using Connect.
Submit a Course was developed and launched in June of 2022 to account for these unique circumstances as an alternative, accessible way for MHFA facilitators to report course data for in-person MHFA courses that cannot otherwise be reported in Connect.
The following chart outlines how the two platforms are intended to be used by Adult, Youth, and Teen MHFA facilitators.
Connect can be used: | SAC can be used: |
By all Adult and Youth instructors and coordinators. | To report course data FULLY in-person Adult MHFA and Youth MHFA courses for learners without Internet or email access who cannot use Connect. |
When all Learners have reliable internet access and a valid email address. |
To report all recent or upcoming Teen MHFA courses. Participants under 18 may not take classes taught in Connect because privacy laws prohibit us from collecting minors' personal identifying information, such as email addresses. |
NOTE: All courses connected to the Florida Department of Education should be taught via Submit A Course. FLDOE MHFA Facilitators are not permitted to create or facilitate courses in Connect.
